Homemade Granola with Pure Honey
Today we’re sharing with you one of our favourite ways to use honey for a quick and healthy snack or breakfast!
This granola is a healthy alternative to store-bought granolas because you control exactly what goes into it! The recipe below is made with whole grains and is naturally sweetened, with no artificial preservatives, flavouring or sweeteners.
The best part? This granola recipe is completely customizable, so you can add any variety of mix-ins and spices to create a granola flavour combination that is just right for you.
- Pumpkin Seeds
- Sunflower Seeds
Chopped Dried Fruit
- Dried Coconut
- Cocoa Nibs
- Lemon or Orange Zest
- Candied Ginger
4 cups rolled oats
2 cups total of your choice of granola mix-ins
1 tsp sea salt
½ teaspoon cinnamon
½ cup binding ingredient - either melted, unsalted butter for a richer option or unrefined coconut oil for a healthier option
½ cup Dr. Bee pure honey
1 tsp vanilla extract
Preheat your oven to 350 degrees F. Prepare a large baking sheet with parchment paper.
In a large bowl, mix together dry ingredients. Pour in wet ingredients and mix well, until all dry ingredients are coated.
Using a large spoon, transfer the granola mixture to your prepared baking sheet and spread in an even layer, or form into rectangular blocks for homemade granola bars.
Bake until lightly golden, around 20-25 minutes. Watch your granola carefully to ensure it does not burn.
Remove from the oven and allow to cool completely before breaking into smaller pieces.
Add additional optional toppings like dried fruit or cocoa nibs before storing in an airtight container.
This granola can be stored at room temperature for up to 2 weeks, or in the freezer for up to 3 months.
